Astro Shuang Xing is a 24-hour Mandarin and Cantonese drama channel offering commercial-free the latest dramas mainly from Asia and SET TV of Taiwan.
Astro Shuang Xing HD is the simulcast HD version of Astro Shuang Xing. It was launched on 16 November 2014 for all Astro customers that subscribed to HD service with Dynasty Pack or New Emperor Pack on channel 307 (HD).
Astro Shuang Xing and Astro Shuang Xing HD features Mandarin and Cantonese audio language and Chinese, Bahasa Malaysia and English subtitles.
History and programming
Astro Shuang Xing started in 2003 broadcasting two channels, i.e., Shuang Xing 1 and Shuang Xing 2. A few years later, both channels were merged as one. Its programming genres cover from epic to idol, action, costume, comedy and romance. Its unique scheduling pattern enables viewers to catch up on the last episode first before broadcasting the new episode.
Malay and Chinese subtitles are available for all dramas (excluding Singapore dramas who didn't have Chinese subtitles). However, English subtitles is only available for Taiwan and Japanese dramas.
