Sherten (born: 8 March 1981; full name: Sherab Tenzin) is a popular Tibetan singer from Golok in Amdo region in modern-day People's Republic of China. He also composes and produces music.[1]

Sherten was taught music first by his grandmother, who had a strong influence on the young music prodigy, particularly instilling in him an affinity for his traditional Tibetan ethnic cultural forms of music. His music career shape as early as in his 12th birthday, and subsequently, debuted in the music arena with his solo album, Promise.[1][2]

His break-in song "The Sound of Unity" was released in 2010. He is widely seen as a successor to the giants of Tibetan ethnic music domain.[3][4][5]
