In Round 1 of the 2014 NRL season, Boyd made his NRL debut for the Canberra Raiders off the interchange bench against the North Queensland Cowboys in the Raiders 28-22 loss at 1300SMILES Stadium.[4] In Round 6 against the Newcastle Knights, Boyd scored his first NRL career try in the Raiders 26-12 loss at Canberra Stadium.[5] On 23 April 2014, Boyd re-signed with the Raiders for a further three years, keeping him at the club till the end of the 2017 season.[6] Boyd finished off the 2014 season with playing 21 matches and scoring a try in his debut year in the NRL for the Raiders.
