Seyed Ali Asghar Dastgheib (Persian: سید علی‌اصغر دستغیب) is a cleric, Shia jurist and member of the Iranian Assembly of Experts. He was among those who advised Ruhollah Khomeini in probate matters.

Personal life

He was born in December 1945 in Shiraz, Iran. He was the son of Ali Akbar Dastgheib, a grandson of Ayatollah Sayyid Ali and brother of Ali Mohammad Dastgheib Shirazi.

He graduated from Shahpur Shiraz high school and entered the Seminary. He studied under masters such as Ayatollah Mirza Hashem Amoli and Grand Ayatollah Golpayegani.[1]

Career

During his 2013 decree by Ali Khamenei, Asghar became a trustee of the shrine of Shah Cheragh and Muhammad ibn Musa ibn Ja'far in Shiraz.[2][3][4]

He was responsible for the Shiraz seminary Razavieh. He became boss of the Board of Trustees of the Council of Shiraz healthy donors.[5]
