The Secretary for Innovation and Technology (Chinese: 創新及科技局局長) of the Hong Kong Government is responsible for formulating holistic policies relating to innovation and technology; strengthening the co-ordination among the Government, industry, academia and research sectors; and expediting the development of innovation, technology and related industries in Hong Kong.[1] The position was created in 2015 by the Leung Chun-ying government after years-long opposition of the pan-democracy camp.
