Searchers (Maliglutit) is a Canadian drama film directed by Zacharias Kunuk and Natar Ungalaaq,[1] which premiered at the 2016 Toronto International Film Festival [2]

Based in part on the 1956 John Wayne film The Searchers,[1] the film is set in 1913. It centres on Kuanana (Benjamin Kunuk), a man who returns from hunting to discover that much of his family has been killed and his wife and daughter have been kidnapped.[3] The cast also includes Jocelyne Immaroitok, Johan Qunaq and Karen Ivalu.[3]

Produced by Kinguliit Productions,[1] the film was shot near Igloolik, Nunavut.[3]
