Live version

During live performances of the song, there is an extra break where Mars does a James Brown dance. In most live performances, he picks up a megaphone to sing the bridge of the song. On October 30, 2011, Mars gave an exclusive performance of the song on the results show of The X Factor UK. Mars performed this song as the opening for the 54th Grammy Awards with the same dance moves and sings the bridge with a megaphone. The performance is highly acclaimed by critics.

Mars also performed a shortened version of the song as part of his Super Bowl XLVIII halftime performance, though without the megaphone.
