Renko is a former municipality of Finland. It was consolidated with Hämeenlinna on 2009-01-01.

It is located in the province of Southern Finland and is part of the Tavastia Proper region. The municipality had a population of 2,378 (30 November 2008)[1] and covered an area of 290.85 square kilometres (112.30 sq mi) of which 12.32 km2 (4.76 sq mi) is water. The population density is 8.54 inhabitants per square kilometre (22.1/sq mi).

The municipality is unilingually Finnish. The municipality has previously also been known as "Rengo" in Swedish documents, but is today referred to as "Renko" also in Swedish.[2]

Renko is also the name of an old Japanese price chart.[3]

Renko A type of chart, developed by the Japanese, that is only concerned with price movement, time and volume are not included. It is thought to be named for the Japanese word for bricks, "renga". A renko chart is constructed by placing a brick in the next column once the price surpasses the top or bottom of the previous brick by a predefined amount. White bricks are used when the direction of the trend is up, while black bricks are used when the trend is down. [4]
