Razmik Panossian

Razmik Panossian (Armenian: Ռազմիկ Փանոսեան, born 1964)[1] is a Canadian-Armenian political scientist. An ethnic Armenian, he was born in Beirut, Lebanon and raised in Canada in a family "engaged with [Armenian] community affairs."[2]

Career

He was director of policy at the International Centre for Human Rights and Democratic Development and has served as an international consultant, including at the United Nations Development Programme.[3] He has been the director of the department of Armenian communities for the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation since 2013.[3] He received his Ph.D. from the London School of Economics (LSE). He has lectured at the LSE and at the SOAS, University of London.[3] He is fluent in English, French and Armenian.[4] He is currently based in Portugal.[3]

He is the author of The Armenians: From Kings and Priests to Merchants and Commissars (ISBN 9780231139267), published by the Columbia University Press in 2006.[5]
