Rafiqul Alam is a Bangaldeshi musician. He was an artist of Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra in 1971.[1][2] He is also a playback singer. As of 2013, he recorded over 300 playback songs for films.[3] Alam received Bangladesh National Film Award twice and Cine Journalists' Association Award.[3]

Early life and career

Alam's grew up in Rajshahi.[4] He was trained under Pandit Haripada Das, Ustad Abdul Jabbar Khan and Ustad Sagiruddin Khan of Kolkata. He learnt Rabindra Sangeet and songs of Atul Prasad from Kanika Bandopadhyay and Ajit Roy.[3]

Personal life

Alam is married to singer Abida Sultana.[5][6]
