Practo is a healthcare company[2] founded by Shashank ND[3] and Abhinav Lal in 2009. Patients use Practo to find and book appointments with doctors, and some doctors use Practo Ray a Saas software to manage their practice.

It is now the world's second largest healthtech start-up (next to Zocdoc) and its last fundraising round[4] had pegged its valuation at $525 million.[5]

History

Practo was founded in Bengaluru in 2008 by Shashank ND[6] and AbhinavLal[7] both alumni of National Institute of Technology, Currently Practo is present in 15 countries, 50 Indian cities[8] with 200,000 registered doctors, 8000 diagnostic centers, 10,000 hospitals and 4,000 Wellness and Fitness centers. It currently operates in Mobile web, iOS and Android operating system.

Acquisitions and Partnerships

In April 2015,the firm acquired FitHo,[9] a Delhi based fitness tech startup,for an undisclosed amount.

In July 2015, it acquired Mumbai based firm Genii[10]

In September 2015, it acquired Insta Health for $12 Million (Rs. 80 Crore). The deal was a mix of cash and equity and saw 100 employees of Insta Health join Practo

On 24 September 2015, it acquired Qikwell for an undisclosed amount, a mixture of cash and stock options. .[11]

On 16 November 2015, Practo and Uber announced a partnership in India, Indonesia,[12] Philippines and Singapore.
