The Perth Symphony Orchestra (Perth Symphony) is a not for profit professional symphony orchestra based in Perth, Western Australia. Perth Symphony has developed a reputation for pushing boundaries in its pursuit of bringing the symphony orchestra into the 21st Century. The orchestra performs in places and spaces not naturally associated with classical music, and challenges traditions in terms of concert presentation and the genres of music it performs.
In 2012 Automotive Holdings Group (AHG) became the Foundation Partner of Perth Symphony.[1]
Perth Symphony is managed by North Street Music.

History

Perth Symphony Orchestra performs the music of Queen

The Perth Symphony Orchestra was founded in November 2011 at an inaugural concert hosted by the University Club of WA, part of the University of Western Australia.[2]
Following an invitation to perform at the 2012 Leeuwin Concert Series in Margaret River,[3] in Western Australia’s south west, Perth Symphony secured their current Foundation Partner, Automotive Holdings Group (AHG).
In 2012 Perth Symphony secured Scotch College as a ‘home’ for rehearsing, commencing a relationship that brought many benefits for both the orchestra and school.
Perth Symphony expanded to include the Perth Chamber Orchestra (PCO) and Perth Symphony Voices during 2013 in response to growing demand for exciting and moving concerts.
In 2014 Perth Symphony launched the Perth Symphony Big Band which performed the show ‘Swing on This’ to launch the Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre[4] in WA’s south west and the Perth Symphony Touring Ensemble to enable regional audiences experience members of the orchestra in concert.

Membership to the Perth Symphony is by invite only. Players comprise the top freelance musicians and rising talent from Western Australia's finest institutions, including the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts and The University of Western Australia

Perth Chamber Orchestra

Perth Chamber Orchestra performs at 'Vivaldi by Candlelight'

The Perth Chamber Orchestra was founded in 2013 under the artistic direction of Paul Wright. This smaller ensemble enables musicians to perform classical symphonies and chamber music in more intimate settings and provide unique experiences for audiences. The Perth Chamber Orchestra consists of members of Perth Symphony.
