History

Perforce Software was founded in 1995 by Christopher Seiwald.[2] The company is headquartered in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, with offices in Alameda, California; Sydney, Australia; Wokingham, England; and Victoria, Canada.[3] Its first product was Perforce, a version control system allowing companies to collaborate on large projects and keep a record of their development.[4] Perforce Helix, built around the Perforce Versioning Engine, was launched in March 2015.[5] Other products include Helix GitSwarm, Helix Swarm, Helix Threat Detection and Helix Insights.[6]

In February 2016, Seiwald sold the company to investment group Summit Partners. Janet Dryer was named as new CEO. [7]
