Pasupathi c/o Rasakkapalayam

Pasupathi c/o Rasakkapalayam is a Tamil language film directed by K. Selva Bharathy and released on 5 October 2007. It starred Ranjith, Sindhu Tolani, Vivek and Ganja Karuppu in the title roles.^[1][2]

Plot

Pasupathy (Ranjith) is a village bumpkin and a do-gooder who comes to town in search of a job, and becomes a sort of handyman in a police station run by Das(Vivek), a constable who gets promoted as a Sub- Inspector thanks to the efforts and brawn of the former. Using Pasupathi to do all the dirty work, Das and other cops become dare devils. But Pasupathy get entangled with a naxalite outfit as he tries to make money for his mother’s operation which would cost him Rs 5 lakhs. Through help from Das and others, he ends up getting the money, but as his mother wakes up from the operation, Pasupathy dies at her feet.

Critical reception

Sify wrote:"Except for Vivek’s comedy there is nothing worthwhile in the film. The second half as the story goes haywire, the film drags and the large doses of old fashioned mother sentiments in the climax leave you exhausted".^[4]
