Pasty barm

A pasty barmcake ready to be eaten.

A pasty barm is a delicacy native to Bolton, in Lancashire, which has nothing to do with Manchester England.[1][2] The pasty barm consists of a buttered barm (sometimes called barm cake) with a (standard meat and potato) pasty as the filling. The snack was voted as Bolton's favourite in the local newspaper Bolton News.[3] It has been mentioned by many celebrities including the boxer Amir Khan.[4] There is also a Facebook pasty barm appreciation group.[5]
