Oncotarget is a weekly peer-reviewed open access medical journal covering research on all aspects of oncology. The journal was established in 2010 and is published by Impact Journals. The editors-in-chief are Mikhail Blagosklonny and Andrei V. Gudkov (Roswell Park Cancer Institute).

Abstracting and indexing

The journal is abstracted and indexed in Index Medicus/MEDLINE/PubMed,[1] BIOSIS Previews,[2] the Science Citation Index Expanded,[2] and Scopus.[3]

Reception

The reviewing process employed by the journal has been criticized by Jeffrey Beall,[4] who also included the journal on his list of "potential, possible, or probable predatory scholarly open-access journals"[5] in July 2015.[4]

According to the Journal Citation Reports, the journal has a 2015 impact factor of 5.008 (3.757 without journal self cites).[6]
