North Kern Golf Course is an 18-hole public golf course located in Kern County, California. It is north of Bakersfield and east of Shafter. The course is 6,754 yards on slightly hilly terrain. It was opened in 1953.[1] It is one of three golf courses owned and managed by the County of Kern Parks & Recreation division.[2]

The course contains no water hazards; however, it does have long par 4 holes. For example, the 16th hole is a 468-yard par 4. Because of the distance, to shoot par, a golfer must use a long iron to hit a small green.[3]
