Education

A native of Ballinteer, Neale Richmond was educated at Wesley College before graduating from UCD with a BA in History and an MA in Political Science. [1]

Political Career

Senator Neale Richmond was elected to Seanad Eireann in 2016,[2] previously elected to Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council in 2009 to represent the Glencullen – Sandyford Ward. He is a member of the Fine Gael party. Neale was re-elected in 2014 on the first count. Following his re-election to the Council, Neale was appointed by the Taoiseach as one of Ireland's nine delegates to the EU's Committee of the Regions.

Neale has previously worked as an advisor in the European Parliament and Dáil Eireann as well as as a Projects Manager in the not for profit sector while he has spent considerable spending time working in Africa as a volunteer. Neale was Campaign Manager for Olivia Mitchell TD in the 2011 General Election.

Neale is a playing member of Old Wesley RFC where he served as Director of Rugby, Neale is also involved in a number of other local youth and community groups.

Neale has served as a Director of DLR Leisure Services, a member of the Sandyford District Business Alliance, a member of the East & Midlands Regional Assembly and on the Board of Management for St. Tiernan’s Community School. [3] [4]
