Nattukku Oru Nallavan is the story of an honest police officer (Rajinikanth) and his fight against a dreaded criminal named Daddy (Anant Nag) who indulges in organ transplant mafia.

V. Ravichandran announced that Shanti Kranti will be an expensive project in his career. He decided to direct in three languages - Kannada, Tamil, Telugu. Tamil version was titled Naattukku Oru Nallavan. Ravichandran played the lead role in Kannada version, he played Ramesh Aravind's character in Tamil and Telugu versions.
