Narpatganj (Vidhan Sabha constituency) (Hindi: नरपतगन्ज विधान सभा निर्वाचन क्षेत्र) is an assembly constituency in Araria district in the Indian state of Bihar.

Overview

As per Delimitation of Parliamentary and Assembly constituencies Order, 2008, No 46 Narpatganj (Vidhan Sabha constituency) is composed of the following: Narpatganj community development block; Bhargama, Jainagar, Khajuri, Kushmaul, Manullahpatti, Paikpar, Raghunathpur North, Raghunathpur South, Rampur Aadi, Shankarpur, Simarbani, Sirsiya Hanumanganj and Sirsiya Kala of Bhargama CD Block.[1]

Narpatganj (Vidhan Sabha constituency) is part of No 9 Araria (Lok Sabha constituency) (SC).[1]

Election results

1977-2010

In the 2010 state assembly elections, Devanti Yadav of BJP won the Narpatganj assembly seat defeating her nearest rival Anil Kumar Yadav of RJD. Contests in most years were multi cornered but only winners and runners are being mentioned. Janardan Yadav of BJP defeated Anil Kumar Yadav of RJD in October 2005. Anil Kumar Yadav of RJD defeated Janardan Yadav of BJP in February 2005. Janardan Yadav of BJP defeated Dayanand Yadav of RJD in 2000. Dayanand Yadav of RJD defeated Janardan Yadav of BJP in 1995 and Indranand Yadav of Congress in 1990. Indranand Yadav of Congress defeated Satya Narayan Yadav of LD in 1985. Janardan Yadav of BJP defeated Satya Narain Yadav of Congress in 1980. Janrdan Yadav of JP defeated Satya Narain Yadav of Congress in 1977.[2][3][4]
