History

In 2012, PT. Net Mediatama Indonesia was established to build a TV station that is said to bring "the media revolution". In mid-March 2013 the company acquired ownership of PT. Televisi Anak Spacetoon (Spacetoon Indonesia) by purchasing 95% of its shares before the company was wholly acquired in May 2013. On Saturday, May 18, 2013, NET. started its trial broadcast using existing television frequencies already acquired by Spacetoon across entire Indonesia, while Spacetoon now broadcasts only via cable and satellite.

NET. started its trial broadcast for one week starting May 18, 2013 until the Grand Launching program of the channel broadcasts live on May 16, 2013 at Jakarta Convention Center in Senayan, central Jakarta. The trial broadcast airs from 5.00 PM to 24.00 PM GMT+07.00 without any commercials. NET. then extends its broadcast time from 04.00 AM to 02.00 AM after the channel's launched, stating the end of the channel's trial broadcast. And specially in the holy month of Ramadan in Islamic calendar, NET. broadcasts 24 hours non-stop.

Some of the programs aired in Spacetoon was then put on a program block called "NET. Playground" or "NETOON" that broadcasts every Mondays to Fridays from 01:30-04.00 PM GMT+07.00 until the block ceased to air a year later.

On April 3, 2015, NET. officially became the main sponsor of the football club Persija Jakarta during the QNB League 2015.[6] The following day, NET. was announced a major sponsor of Persib Bandung.[7]
