Murang'a High School

Murang'a High School is a Catholic church sponsored boys boarding high school located in Murang'a town, Kenya. It has over 800 students. The school was founded in the year 1964 and since then has grown to become the one of the top performers in Murang'a County. The school is situated very close to the main town centre and is easily accessible by road or on foot. The school is surrounded by a quiet neighborhood and natural surroundings helping to create the perfect learning conditions. The school has produced some of the most influential men from Murang'a County including the current senator for the county, Hon. Kembi Gitura,Mt Kenya University Founder,Hon.Simon Gicharu and renowned crime-thriller writer John Kiriamiti.The school has a high level of discipline and is in the league of top achievers.The school set a target of 10.5 in 2013 and it surely achieved a mean of 10.59,an A-.The institution is still looking forward for the top spot in the K.C.S.E Examinations and is double sure it will achieve it because of the hardwork,determination and good character that the students display.The school also has ongoing and finished projects such as a three-storey dormitory and an ultramodern laboratory.A strong team of determined teachers is there to ensure the students have all they need in terms of intellectual development and modelling an all rounded student in extra curricular activities.The school has many a times reached the national flight in music and drama festivals.It also has participated competitively in Games such as football,rugby,hockey,handball,badminton and basketball. It hosted the jubilee celebrations on 14 July 2014 as a grand ceremony presided by His Excellency the Deputy President,William Samoei Ruto. The school has featured well and excellently in the 2014 K.C.S.E examinations by upping its game to a mean of 10.72. The 2014 candidates broke a record of getting 51 A plains and 70 A minuses.
