Mundka is a census town and village in West district in the Indian state of Delhi. Mundka is the birthplace and village of former Chief minister of Delhi, Late Dr Sahib Singh Verma. The current MLA of the Mundka constituency is Mr. Sukhbir Singh Dalal, an AAP candidate while BJP lost this for having been won 2 times from here.

Demographics

As of 2001 India census,[1] Mundka had a population of 43,898. Males constitute 56% of the population and females 44%. Mundka has an average literacy rate of 78%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 75%, and female literacy is 65%. In Mundka, 16% of the population is under 6 years of age. This village comes under 8th no Assembly of Delhi.

The Mundka station of Delhi Metro rail has started from 2 April 2010. Mundka to inderlok. The 15.1 km corridor benefits thousands of people in the national capital’s west and northwest area. The corridor, also called the Green Line, connects Inderlok (on Dilshad Garden—Rithala line) and Kirti Nagar (on Dwarka – Noida City Centre/ Vaishali line). It is 22 km from Connaught place (Delhi) and 10 km from Bahadurgarh (Haryana).[2][3] The village lies adjacent to Swarn Park.

Recent developments

The constituency has been in the news for the very poor infrastructure. Despite having a popular metro station near by it. The streets become small drains and sever overflows in just a matter of few minutes of rain. People believe that mundka is one of the most corrupt constituency in whole delhi as there is no basic infrastructure is present.

Village have its own community centre, library, Govt Primary school and high school. It is also a central point for aeronautical colleges and DELHI METRO DEPOT. Moreover this is an village of Delhi State. In addition, Dada Bhero Temple is well renowned temple in village.
