Mukundapuram Taluk is a taluk (tehsil) in Thrissur district in the Indian state of Kerala.[1] In 1762 this taluk was formed by Cochin King. When new Chalakudy Taluk formed in 2013 Mukundapuram Taluk lost Kallettumkara, Thazhekkad, Varandarappilly, Mupliyam, Nandipulam,Mattathur,Kodakara & Aloor villages which were part of the Taluk from 1762 onwards in addition to the villages attached to the Taluk afterwards. At present the headquarters of the taluk is Irinjalakuda.[2]and It comprises 29 villages.[3]
