Moholmen Lighthouse (Norwegian: Moholmen fyr) is a coastal lighthouse located in the municipality of Vågan in Nordland county, Norway. The lighthouse is located on a small island in the Vestfjorden about 4 kilometres (2.5 mi) southwest of Kabelvåg and about 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) straight west of Skrova Lighthouse.[2][3]

History

Moholmen Lighthouse was originally built in 1914. The original tower was moved to Tranøy, Hamarøy in 1936. A new tower was built at Moholmen, and that tower was automated in 1974. The current tower is 13.3 metres (44 ft) tall, and at the top there is a white, red or green light (depending on direction), occulting twice every 8 seconds. The white tower is cast iron and built in a square pyramidal shape.[4][5]
