Historical moments

MFirst time in Maharashtra history water express miraj to latur. Latur has scarcity of water. Hon. Railway Minister Suresh Prabhuji ordered to supply of Railway tankers to give water by railway to Latur but the first idea to supply water from Pandharpur was practically not feasible and taking a long time to supply water. After this news was studied by Railway Kruti Sanmiti, Miraj. Suggested that Miraj Junction having its own 4.5 M.L.D. water supply scheme and nowadays they utilise only 1.25 M.L.D. to supply the water to the Station, Rail Coach & employee quarters and it is suitable to fill up the tankers from existing rail line. This concept was submitted to Chief Minister Shri. Devendraji Fadanvis by President of Railway Kruti Samiti, Miraj Shri. Makarand Deshpande and the primary information collected by Secretary Sukumar Patil. After putting this concept to Hon. C.M. They instructed to Hon. Collector of Sangli to detail study. After primary feasibility of this Hon. Minister Shri. Ekanathji Khadase & Pankajatai Mundhe visited Miraj and approved this plan to give water to Latur. In this project Shri. Shekhar Gaikwad Hon.Collector of Sangli, Shri. Sadilage Executive Engineer, M.J.P.Sangli. & Contractor Shri. Shashank Jadhav made it on top priority. And this concept take place by 11 April 2016 and first train having 10 wagons run for Latur and from 11 APril till day 10 wagons regularlly going to Latur
