Melody Day (Hangul: 멜로디데이) is a South Korean girl group formed in 2012 by Viewga Entertainment. The group officially debuted in 2014, and has to date released four EPs and appeared on multiple soundtracks. The group is currently composed of four members: Yeoeun, Chahee, Yein and Yoomin.

History

2012–2014: Pre-debut releases

Melody Day started their career as a trio in 2012,[1] featuring on soundtracks for dramas such as Bridal Mask, Cheongdam-dong Alice, Missing You, My Daughter Seo-young, The King of Dramas, I Can Hear Your Voice, Master's Sun, and Pretty Man.

On June 26, 2013, they released the ballad track "Loving Alone" as part of the single album New Wave Studio Rookie, Vol. 1.

2014: Debut with Another Parting and new member Yoomin

Melody Day officially debuted with the single album Another Parting on February 25, 2014, with the title track of the same name. Its music video featured the actors Seo In-guk and Wang Ji-won.[2] The group's debut music show performance was on KBS's Music Bank on February 28.

Later that year, Melody Day featured on digital singles by 2AM's Changmin and CNBLUE's Lee Jong-hyun, "The Very Last First" (May 21)[3] and "To Tell You The Truth" (August 14)[4] respectively. They also featured on the original soundtrack of the drama Fated to Love You with the single "You're My Everything", a remake of Jeff Bernat's "Be The One".[5]

In October, Melody Day introduced a new member, Yoomin.[6] The group released their first song as a quartet, "Listen to My Heart", for the drama Cantabile Tomorrow.[7] On December 12, they released the digital single "Anxious", featuring Mad Clown.[8]

2015–present: #LoveMe, Speed Up, and Color

Melody Day's second single album #LoveMe was released on June 9, 2015. Four months later, on October 7, they released their third single album Speed Up, with the music video for the title track of the same name starring Got7's Junior. On December 28, they released the digital single "When It Rains" featuring VIXX's Ravi.[9]

On July 1, 2016, the group released their EP Color with the title track of the same name.[10]
