2015–16 Melbourne Stars season

The Melbourne Stars is an Australian Twenty20 cricket team based in Melbourne, Victoria that competes in Australia's Twenty20 competition, the Big Bash League.[1] The Stars wear a green uniform and play their home matches at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, the largest cricket stadium in the world.[2]

They are currently captained by Australian David Hussey and coached by former New Zealand captain Stephen Fleming.[3]

Mascot

Starman is the official mascot of the Melbourne Stars. In BBL|05 the Stars introduced a secondary mascot Sammy the Seagull after a seagull was struck with a cricket ball hit by Adam Voges during a Melbourne Stars and Perth Scorchers match in BBL|04 while the Stars were fielding.
