Melba Acosta Febo[lower-alpha 1] is a corporate executive, attorney, certified public accountant and notary public. She is a former President of the Government Development Bank for Puerto Rico and Chief Public Finance Officer of Puerto Rico.[1] Acosta is also a former Secretary of Treasury of Puerto Rico,[2][3][4][5] Director of the Puerto Rico Office of Management and Budget and Chief of Staff of the Municipality of San Juan. In the private sector, she held various corporate positions at R&G Financial Corporation such as Chief Administrative Officer, Corporate Risk Manager, and Chief Financial Officer (CFO).[2] She was also a Corporate Counsel at Puerto Rico's largest law firm, McConnell Valdés, LLC and a Tax Consultant with Price Waterhouse.[6] Acosta possesses a BBA in Accounting and a Juris Doctor both from the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras, and an MBA from the Harvard Business School (Eli Lilly scholar).[7][8][9] She has been member of the Boards of Directors of the Puerto Rico Museum of Art (Chairwoman, Treasurer, Secretary),[10] the Fundacion Luis Munoz Marin (Treasurer, Secretary)[11] and United Way of Puerto Rico.[12]
