Megan McLean (born February 19, 1997)known by her Stage name as Megs is an American Country-Grunge (Crunge) recording artist from Seattle, Washington. She atended the University of Montana where she was a member of the Griz rodeo team as a barrel racer. She also participated in many on stage productions as well as infront of the camera and voice acting.

McLean is best known for her breakout Single "It's My Truck" in 2015, and was awarded with Country Pick of the Week[1] in 2016. McLean was the "first artist to have her likeness etched into the infamous vintage Neve 8048 recording console at London Bridge Studio".[2] She also released her "Virtually Me" Virtual reality App at the 94.1 kmps pop up show[3] Taylor Swift concert in Seattle where she " Shocks Taylor Swift Concert Audience".[4]

Early life and influences

McLean was born to John and Leslea McLean and is one of two girls, her younger sister Jenna, raised in Snohomish, Washington and attended Glacier Peak High School.[5]

Career

McLean started out as an actress, most known for starring in "Canna"[6][7] a Short film in 2013.[8] In 2015 Megs released her first single titled “It's My Truck”[9] featuring an all-star production team including Ben Smith (Heart), Brad Smith (Blind Melon), Jeff Balding,[10] and Andrew Mendleson. Her single was recorded at the legendary London Bridge Studio in Seattle, Washington, known for recording acts such as Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Nickelback, 3 Doors Down, Macklemore, and so much more. Her songs are produced by Geoff Ott who has quite the astounding reputaion. There was a making of Video produced by Emmy award winning cinematographers Todd and Jackson of turn left productions.[11]

In 2016 Megs released her Breakout EP Titled Out of School also recorded at London Bridge Studio.

Personal life

Megs attended college at the University of Montana where she was a member of the Griz rodeo team. She dropped out that same year to pursue music when she was offered an exclusive deal with ReelTime.

In 2016 McLean began to shine a light on Local Animal Rescue organizations in the Seattle area such as Emerald City Pet Rescue. In her Video of the Event on YouTube she stated “I really admire the work you guys do here, it has always been a dream of mine to start Megs Animal Rescue Shelter and call it M.A.R.S for short.”[12]
