John McEachern High School or McEachern High School is a public high school established in 1908 in Powder Springs, Georgia, United States. It was originally established as the Seventh District Agricultural and Mechanical School. Due to its history, McEachern has an open campus, with its buildings spaced across the property. It is the largest school in the CCSD, with around 2,500 students,[2] in grades 9-12.
Buildings
- Alumni House - The upper floor is home to the groundskeeper, Bill, while the lower level holds the office of the Trust board.
- Business Technology Building (BT) - The bottom floor houses foreign language classes; the top floor houses business classes.
- Career-Tech building (CT) - This contains Auto-Tech, Health, Graphic Arts, Cosmetology and other technology courses.
- New Dining Hall - During the 2007-08 school year, a new state-of-the-art dining hall was built where the old John McEachern Building once stood.
- Old Dining Hall - The bottom remains in use by NJROTC and the top is used as a new book room. Two of the three classrooms next to the book room are assigned to NJROTC for academic instruction.
- Dobbs Hall - This houses science classes. The library is on the bottom level.
- Fine Arts Center (FAC) - This housed the band room, book room, and old theater. It was replaced by the new Physical Education Building.
- Freshman Center (FC or F) - Freshmen advisement is held here, as well as freshmen courses. The basement holds most extra-curricular courses, such as Art, Culinary Arts, and others.
- John McEachern Building (JM) - English classes were held here. It was torn down.
- Macland Hall - This houses social studies and special education classes, and a FACS Nutrition and Wellness classroom.
- Physical Education & Hall of Fame Building - This is the newest building. It is across from the Business Technology Building and is connected to the Cantrell Stadium. Gym classes are held here.
- Lovinggood Gym (new gym) - This was renovated in 2012 with a new floor, seats and sound system.
- Mosley Scaffe Gym (old gym) - This was demolished in the summer of 2009, and was replaced by the new Physical Education Building.
- Performing Art Center (PAC) - This houses the orchestra, chorus, and drama classes, as well as the John Alton Keith Theater.
- Russell Hall - The main offices are found here. It is the original building on campus.
- Senior & Junior Buildings - These are two of the older buildings on campus. The Junior and Senior buildings are home to the Math Department.
- New Fine Arts center - This is located beside the PAC across from the parking lot by the Orchestra/Chorus exits.
- Walter H. Cantrell stadium - This 12,500-seat stadium is the largest high school stadium in the state of Georgia. It is used primarily for football, soccer, marching band exhibitions, graduation ceremonies and other events. Renovations to the stadium took place between 2011 and 2013. The renovations included a new luxury press box with a press area and private viewing areas. A new hall of fame and weight trading building was built overlooking the stadium. It also includes a new HD video score board and sound system.

- Rory Anderson (born 1992) - football tight end for the San Francisco 49ers of the NFL; drafted in the 7th round of the 2015 NFL Draft by the 49ers; played college football at South Carolina

- Lissa Endriga - international model; TV host of the travel show Destination X
- Ted Laurent - offensive lineman for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and Ole Miss Rebels
- Mark Lee - lead guitarist for the four-time Grammy Award-winning band Third Day; graduated in 1991[4]
- Gerald McRath - linebacker for Southern Miss.; drafted by the Tennessee Titans in the 2009 NFL draft as an outside linebacker; graduated 2004
- Adam Meadows - four-year starter for the University of Georgia; drafted by the Indianapolis Colts
- Patrick N. Millsaps - Chief of Staff of Newt Gingrich's 2012 presidential campaign; political analyst on Fox News, CNN and MSNBC; graduated in 1991
