Mark Springer is an English pianist, composer and painter. He is perhaps best recognized as a member of Rip Rig + Panic, which he joined in 1981 in Bristol. His technique has been compared to Cecil Taylor.[1]
Biography
Mark Springer first began playing gigs with the experimental rock band The Pop Group, the members of which he had been schoolmates with.[2] In 1981, Springer joined former Pop Group members, Gareth Sager and Bruce Smith, in Rip Rig + Panic. After Rip Rig + Panic disbanded in 1983, Springer began recording as a solo artist. His debut album titled Piano was released in 1984 and comprised numerous solo piano recordings.[3]
