Mahboula

Mahboula is a town in Kuwait bound by Fintas, Abu Halifa, the road numbered 30 (also called the Fahaheel Expressway) and the Persian Gulf. The English translation for the word Mahboula is Mad Woman. Now there are two Mahboulas. One is the Coastal Road side Mahboula with its fancy high rises and the other is the area sandwiched between Fahaheel expressway and these high rises. Once known for being part of Kuwait's wealthy is now home to many that work in the labor camps for the Burgan oil field. With it high cost of living and zero quality of life, Kuwait has fallen behind many of its Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) counterparts (Saudi Arabia,the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, and Oman).

Mahboula has many residential complexes including the high rise tower Nofa Towers, Mareena Towers, Bader Complex, Al Awtad Complex, the Commercial Real Estate Complex (Fahd Sultan Complex),Al Arbeed complex, Sarah Complex, Ahmad Tower (Block 1, Street 114, Building 269) and the Alia-Ghalia towers (also known as Al Fintas Towers). Thera ere more high rises coming on Road 209, near Nofa Towers. It has many restaurants on its coastline including Smashburger, Burger King, Pizza Hut, Applebee's, Dawat, Kababji, Domino's Pizza, Fish market Restaurant, Mr. Subs and Wraps, McDonald's, KFC Mc Donalds, Tikka, Taco Bell and Hardee's. and also some coffee shops like Starbucks and Dunkin' Donuts. Mahboula is also home to several bakers such as Mr. Baker, Bread Talk, sablé The food court has restaurants like T.G.I. Friday's, Mais Al-Ghanim, The Chocolate Bar, Asha's, Coffee Beans and several others. The town is experiencing an infrastructure boom as heavy construction is going on at several sites.
