List of tartans

This is a list of tartans from around the world. The examples shown below are generally emblematic of a particular association. However, for each clan or family, there are often numerous other official or unofficial variations. There are also innumerable tartan designs that are not affiliated with any group, but were simply created for aesthetic reasons.

Clan Stuart Highland clans Scotland Listed in the Vestiarium Scoticum. This is a "Royal Stewart tartan" of the House of Stuart. It is worn by the regimental pipers of the Scots Guards. It was referred to by King George V of the United Kingdom as "my personal tartan".

Burberry Check Company design England Created in the 1920s, this pattern is known as the "Burberry check". It was originally used as a lining in the company's trench coats.
U.S. State tartan Arizona United States
U.S. State tartan Arkansas United States Known as "Arkansas Traveler Tartan", it was recognized as an official state tartan of Arkansas in 2001. The green represents the forests and trees of the Ozark Mountains, a settlement location of Scottish immigrants. The blue represents the water bodies. The yellow represents the sunshine, and the red for the strong beautiful lakes, rivers, and streams; yellow for the bright rays of sunshine during the spring and summer seasons; red for the colour of blood, representing strong family ties to Scotland.
