The Romanian Top 100 is the national airplay-based singles chart of Romania. It is weekly and it started running in 1996. It is recognized as an official chart by the European division of Billboard, Music & Media. From 2000 to November 2001 there are no archives left on Romanian Top 100's official website. The first registered number-one of this decade in Romania was "Hero" by Enrique Iglesias and the last one was "I Gotta Feeling" by The Black Eyed Peas. In the 2000s (decade), there were 96 songs to peak at number-one. The greatest hit of this decade would be 2007's "Say It Right" by Nelly Furtado.

2001

Australian popstar Kylie Minogue had the biggest single of the year with "Can't Get You Out of My Head" which spent 5 weeks at number one

American rapper Eminem topped the chart twice, once in August and later with his 8 Mile theme song, in December.

2008

This is a list of the songs that reached #1 in the Romanian Singles Chart in 2008. The chart had at least 14 no. 1 singles in 2008 (including Crazy Loop's "Mm-ma-ma"), as it had four editions missing in the summer and autumn. Highlights include Kylie Minogue's sixth knows no.1 (second only to Madonna for the most chart hits), Morandi's forth no.1 and 3rei Sud Est's last, as the band went separated ways soon after.

2009

Pop singer Katy Perry has spent nine weeks at no. 1 with "Hot n Cold", one week short of the ten weeks "Cry, Cry" by German singer had Oceana spend. "Hot n Cold" topped the year-end chart.

Alex Velea had the first no. 1 in Romanian since Celia's "Şoapte" in April 2008, almost a year before. Oceana's "Cry, Cry" was the longest running number-one.
