List of high voltage underground and submarine cables

While underground cables for voltages below 150 kV are very common and can be found in the area of most towns with more than 10,000 inhabitants, the installation of power lines with voltages greater than 150,000 volts is almost always done overhead. However this is not always possible or desired, especially in urban areas, near power plants, or for crossings of some straits or rivers.

The following incomplete list contains AC cables for voltages above 150 kV. For DC underground and submarine cables, see List of HVDC projects and for more details the articles about the corresponding HVDC system ( if available).
