List of business region acronyms

This is a list of commonly used acronyms of regional designations used for government, marketing and business purposes.

A

• APAC: Asia-Pacific North
• ANZ: Australia and New Zealand
• APJ: Asia Pacific and Japan

B

• Benelux: Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg.
• BRICS: Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa.

C

• CALA: Caribbean and Latin America
• CEMA: Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa
• CEE: Central and Eastern Europe

D

• DACH: Germany (D), Austria (A) and Switzerland (CH), widely used acronym in the German speaking area
• DOS: Germany, Austria and Switzerland (for the countries' respective names in German: Deutschland, Österreich, and Schweiz)

E

• EMEA: Europe, the Middle East and Africa
• EMEIA, EMEAI: Europe, the Middle East, Africa and India.
• EMEACIS: Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Commonwealth of Independent States.
• EMEAC: Europe, Middle East, Africa and Caribbean.
• EEMEA: Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa. Some companies separate their Eastern European business from the rest of Europe, and refer to the EEMEA region separately from the Western/Central European (EU/EFTA) region.

• Greater China: Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan

• IMEA: India, Middle East and Africa

• LATAM: Latin America

M

• MART: Middle East, Africa, Russia and Turkey.
• MENA: Middle East and North Africa.
• MEP: Middle East and Pakistan.
• MEMC: Middle East, Monaco and China

• NACE: North Atlantic and Central Europe
• NAMET: North Africa, Middle East and Turkey
• NORAM or NA or NAMER: North American Region, Canada and the US, NORAM (Mexico is included)
• NALA: North America and Latin America
• NAFTA: North American Free Trade Agreement

P

• PIGS: Portugal, Italy, Greece and Spain. (Some later variants include Ireland and Great Britain; PIIGS or PIIGGS)

S

• SEA: South-East Asia.
• SEMEA: Southern Europe, Middle East and Africa.
• SEEMEA: South-Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa.
