List of First Ministers of Catalonia

The following is a list of First Ministers of Catalonia (Catalan: Conseller Primer, literally "First Councillor"; formerly the Conseller en Cap), since 2001. The First Minister may be appointed by, and is subordinate to, the President of the Generalitat.

The title can be misleading, as the President of the Generalitat—not the First Minister—is the head of the Catalan government. Appointment of a First Minister is optional. In the 2006 term the powers of the former First Ministers were given to the new position of Vice President of Catalonia.
