The Lifan 320 is a supermini car produced by the Lifan Motors division of Lifan Group.[2] Known for being superficially similar to the Mini,[3] it debuted at the 2008 Beijing Auto Show.[4] The 320 was face lifted in 2013, subsequently called 330 which is sold alongside the original 320.[5]

The Lifan 320 is sold in China in and several export markets including Peru[6] and in Russia where it is known as the Lifan Smily.[7] The 320 is assembled in Cherkessk by Derways Automobile Company since 2011.[8]

Specification

The 320 is powered by a 1.3 L (1342 cc) 4-cylinder petrol engine, developing 89 bhp (66 kW; 90 PS) @ 6000 rpm and 115 N·m (85 lb·ft) @3500-4500 rpm. It has a top speed of 155 km/h (96 mph) and can accelerate to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 14.5 seconds.[9]

Safety

In December 2014, a Lifan 320 model with no airbags was crash tested by Latin NCAP and received zero stars out of five. The comments from the press release cited: "The protection offered to the driver’s head and chest was poor due to contact with the steering wheel. The passengers' knees could impact with dangerous structures in the dashboard lie the Tran fascia tube. The bodyshell was rated as unstable."[10]
