A member of the Screen Actors Guild (S.A.G.), Valentine starred in national commercials and made numerous television appearances. Valentine became Miss Missouri USA in 1977. Shortly after winning the title, she was involved in a horrific car crash which involved a lengthy recuperation period; the doctors were not certain if she would even walk again.
