Laura Pannack (born 12 June 1985) is a British social documentary and portrait photographer, based in London. Since 2008, she has received awards for her work and had solo exhibits. Her works are often of children and teenagers.
Education and career
Pannack gained a degree in editorial photography at the University of Brighton; studied a foundation course in painting at Central Saint Martins College of Art, London; and studied a foundation course at London College of Communication.
In 2011 Pannack featured in Creative Review's Ones to Watch list[1] and in 2013 in The Magenta Foundation's Emerging Photographers list.[2]
She works commercially and on self initiated personal projects, her subjects often being "young people and teenagers".[1]
Pannack's work has been used to illustrate articles in The Sunday Times, Le Monde, Time, The Guardian, The Independent, The Daily Telegraph[3][4][5] and The Sunday Telegraph.[6] Her work has been a feature in Wired,[7][8] Esquire Kazakhstan,[9] Hotshoe, British Journal of Photography, Creative Review and Time.
Commercial clients have included The Mental Health Foundation, Save the Children, Oxfam,[10] Dove,[11] Samsung, Barclays and Vodafone.
Pannack's notable personal projects include The Untitled,[7] Young Love[7] and Young British Naturists,[12][13] all covering youth and adolescence. For her personal work Pannack largely uses a film camera,[14] at one time a Bronica 645 medium format camera[7] and more recently a Hasselblad 6x6.
