''''Laukahi is a town situated in Madhubani district of Bihar state. It is almost 60km from the district headquarters madhubani and is a remote area. It is very near to the Nepal border and touches Pato Bazar of the Saptari district of Nepal. People there speaks Maithili and Hindi in languages. The main base of economy is buissness and agriculture. And very few people doing service.

It is a block headquarter containing several village like Kariyaut, Mahdeva, Dhaunki, Jhahuri, Auraha, Bontola, Chhattapur and many more.

It has two banks namely Allahabad bank and Gramin bank one of them has core banking service but there is no ATM facility available there.

It has a small government hospital equipped with generator ambulance and other important utilities. It also has a police station.

People celebrates here holi, diwali, chhath puja, eid, muharram, and other festivals every year.

It is connected to nh 57 and nh 104 through "pradhan mantri gramin sadk yojna" and other roads. The nearest railway station is Khutauna (20 km appx., meter gauge) from here. The means of transports are private buses, you can get buses for many places like Jhanjharpur, Madhubani, Darbhanga, Patna, Jaynagar, Nirmali from there.
