Kulpi (Vidhan Sabha constituency) is an assembly constituency in South 24 Parganas district in the Indian state of West Bengal. The Kulpi seat was earlier reserved for scheduled castes but is an open seat from 2011.

1977-2006

In the 2006 state assembly elections,[15] Sakuntala Paik of CPI(M) won the 124 Kulpi (SC) assembly seat defeating her nearest rival Jagaranjan Haldar of Trinamool Congress. Contests in most years were multi cornered but only winners and runners are being mentioned. Jagaranjan Haldar of Trinamool Congress defeated Sakuntala Paik of CPI(M) in 2001.[14] Sakuntala Paik of CPI(M) defeated Kirtibas Sarder of Congress in 1996,[13]Krishnadhan Halder of CPI(M) defeated Jogranjan Halder of Congress in 1991,[12]Kirtibas Sarder of Congress in 1987,[11] and Santosh Kumar Mondal of Congress in 1982[10]and 1977.[9][18]

1951-1972

Santosh Kumar Mondal of Congress won in 1972.[8]Mukunda Ram Mondal of CPI(M) won in 1971.[7]Murari Mohan Halder of Bangla Congress won in 1969.[6]N.K.Haldar of Congress won in 1967.[5]Hrishikesh Halder, Independent, won in 1962.[4] Hansadhwaj Dhara of Congress won in 1957.[3]In independent India’s first election in 1951 Kulpi had a joint seat. Nalini Kanta Halder of KMPP and Pran Krishna Kumar of Bharatiya Jana Sangh won the Kulpi seat.[2]
