Kipkelion East Constituency

Kipkelion East is an electoral constituency in Kericho County, Kenya. It was established for the 2011 general elections as constituency number 188 when Kipkelion Constituency was split into kipkelion east and kipkelion west constituency

Kipkelion East incorporates Tendeno, Londiani, Kedowa/Kimugul and Chepseon wards. The incumbent member of national assembly is, the unpopular and perceived as a foreigner from the slopes of Nandi, Hon. J Limo. Most people of Kipkelion East believed that powerful Jubilee party barons imposed him to them. The Kipkelion East constituency area of the former Kipkelion has produced past MPs such as Moses Kiprono of Soget, Kipsongol, Dr Koech, Eng Samuel Rotich, Dr Sammy Ruto and Bishop Tonui. The upcoming 2017 parliamentary election is believed to attract a pool of intelligent. The likes of Korir vincent of Jubilee Party of Kenya, Vincent Kigen (believed to be from Bomet, Raia)- an arrogant energetic leader popularly known as 'Ukweli wa Mambo'; formerly of JAP secretariat and claim to work in the Office of the Deputy President. kigen has been seen lately as an imposter from bomet county and has benefited from recent government scandals which has seen him benefit from illegal money and Another aspirant is Kuria a Nairobi-based businessman of Londiani town. Rumours has it that the first and the current CEC for Finance and Economic Planning of the County Government of Kericho Mr. Patrick Mutai might be persuaded to contest for the seat. It is believed that the parliamentary elections will not be a walk in the park for him if he chooses to heed the call of his constituents. The current member of parliament is a facing stiff competition from leading aspirants like Korir Vincent who came second in 2013 polls by a difference of 243 votes, joseph cherorot is also seen as a resident who is serous and well endowed with good resources though with questionable church background while he Bishop of a church and people foresee a repeat of bishop Tonui era of handouts.
