Following its release, Kid Rock was dropped by Jive and became an independent artist. In 1992, he signed to a small Brooklyn based imprint called Contiuum. He was released from Continuum after two years and started his own Top Dog record label. In 1997, he was signed to Atlantic Records. He released his mainstream debut album, Devil Without a Cause, on August 18, 1998. The album would be certified diamond by the RIAA and go on to sell 11 million copies in the United States. In 2000, he released The History of Rock, a compilation of tracks from 1993's The Polyfuze Method and 1996's Early Mornin Stoned Pimp. Cocky was released in 2001 as the official follow up to Devil Without a Cause and sold five million copies. That was followed by 2003's Kid Rock and 2006's Live Trucker. Live Trucker was Kid Rock's first live release selling over 600,000 copies, but yet counted has a gold album. In 2007, Kid Rock made his comeback with Rock n Roll Jesus, which was certified triple platinum. Born Free was released in 2010 and went platinum. Rebel Soul went gold in April 2013. He has sold 25 million albums in the US as of December 2013, and over 35 million worldwide.[1] He released First Kiss in 2015, has of January 2016 it has sold 356,000 copies. In 2000, he produced the rock hit "American Bad Ass". He crossed over to the country charts in 2003 with "Picture", a duet with Sheryl Crow. In 2008, Kid Rock had his biggest hit to date with "All Summer Long". It reached number 1 in eight countries and, despite not being available on iTunes, peaked at number 23 on the Billboard Hot 100 strictly from radio airplay. The song was also a success on the country and adult contemporary charts, where it peaked at numbers 4 and 2 respectively. Kid Rock had another crossover hit with "Born Free" in 2010. "Collide" and "Care" charted on the AC and Country charts as well in 2011. "Let's Ride" off of 2012's Rebel Soul charted at No 105 on the Hot 100 and charted No 8 on the digital rock tracks.
