Khibula (Georgian: ხიბულა, translit.: khibula) is a 2016 Georgian historical drama film directed by Giorgi Ovashvili about the first democratically elected President of Georgia - Zviad Gamsakhurdia. The film script has written by Giorgi Ovashvili and Roelof Jan Minneboo. Khibula is co-production of director's company Alamdary Films, Germany’s 42 Film, France’s Arizona Productions and Kino from Kazakhstan. The budget of the film was 1,525,011 EUR. The Khibula participated in l’Atelier du Festival de Cannes 2011 and also in the Co-production Lab Locarno 2013.[1][2][3]
