Khalti Lake (Urdu: خلتی جھیل, Khowar: خلتیو چھت) is situated in the Tehsil Gupis of Ghizer District, Ghizer District, the westernmost part of the Gilgit–Baltistan region and northernmost territory of Pakistan. This lake is an important source of fresh water with full of Trout fishes.

Location

Khalti Lake is located in Khalti Village of Ghizer District (Gilgit-Baltistan), Pakistan about 7274 ft. (2217 m) from sea level. Khalti valley has many beautiful landscapes and breathing views of nature. It invites the tourists to watch the scenic view of Khalti Lake. This lake is famous for being habitat of trout fish. The lake is formed due to stretch of Ghizer River near the village of Khalti. The dark blue waters of lake during summer look very charming and beautiful. The lake usually freezes during winter and villagers of Khalti use to walk on it. Tournaments are held on the freeze lake of Khalti.[1] This lake is an important source of fresh water.

Beauty of Gupis

Gupis Valley is full of beautiful landscapes and breathtaking views. The turquoise water of flowing river along with the road, surrounding fields and forests look very charming for tourists.

Khalti Lake is famous for being habitat of trout fish.[2][3][4] Originally, these trouts had been dropped into the River Ghizer near Golaghmuli Village. Those fishes increased their quantity and reached almost every part of Gupis Valley. A PTDC motel is situated nearby to facilitate tourists. Its nice place stay for an overnight in the PTDC. You can enjoy the spectacular view of the lake from the PTDC Motel.
