"Keep Your Head to the Sky" peaked at number 52 on the Billboard Pop Singles chart and number 23 on the Black Singles Chart.[1][2]

The song was also sampled on the track, "Guidance" by Gang Starr acclaimed rapper Guru featuring Amel Larrieux on 2000's Guru's Jazzmatazz, Vol. 3: Streetsoul.
