Katsuji Miyazaki (c. 1915 – 18 March 1993[1]) was a Japanese aeronautical engineer living near Tokyo, Japan.[2] He was the director of family firm Miyazaki Airplane[3] during World War II and later transitioned his engineering career from airplane to vehicle parts manufacturing working for Toyo Radiator Company, Limited,[4] now known as T.RAD.[5]

Family

He and his wife had four children: Arita Miyazaki (July 1939 – ?), notable Japanese anime artist Hayao Miyazaki (5 January 1941 – present), Yutaka Miyazaki (January 1944 - ?), and Shirou Miyazaki.[6] Between 1947 and 1955 his wife was bedridden with spinal tuberculosis.[7] After his wife, "Dola" Miyazaki, transitioned to being nursed at home,[8] she recovered and lived until her death in July 1980.[9]
