Katie Allen (born 28 February 1974) is an Australian field hockey player. She won a gold medal at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney.[1]
Allen was born in Adelaide. She competed for Australia in the 1994 Women's Hockey World Cup, in which they won their first World Cup title. The following year Allen helped the SA Suns win the Australian Hockey League title, and also played in the victorious Australian side at the 1995 Women's Hockey Champions Trophy. She helped Australia to victory again in the 1997 Women's Hockey Champions Trophy.
Allen won the 1998 Women's Hockey World Cup with Australia before representing her country in hockey at the 1998 Commonwealth Games – Women's tournament, in which they won their first gold medal.
In field hockey at the 2000 Summer Olympics – Women's tournament, Allen helped Australia to another gold medal. She played in the victorious Australian side at the 2003 Women's Hockey Champions Trophy, and she also competed in Field hockey at the 2004 Summer Olympics – Women's tournament, in which Australia came 5th. In 2005 Allen was co-winner of the Women's FIH Player of the Year Awards.
In 2013 Allen was assistant coach of the Victorian Vipers.
